Brian Fruits

Brian Fruits is a second-year MFA directing candidate who comes to the University of Memphis from Chicago, Illinois, where he holds a BA in Secondary Education from Concordia University of Chicago. Past directing credits include Line, Topdog/Underdog, Yellow Light, The Glass Menagerie, W;t, The Fantasticks, Les Miserables, Macbeth, The Diviners, and the Chicago Shakespeare Company’s world premiere of The Adventures of Pinocchio, for which he served as Assistant Director to 2010 Chicago Director of the Year Rachel Rockwell. He is a proud member of the Illinois Theatre Association (ITA) and The Still Point Theatre Collective, and an Associate Member of the Stage Director & Choreographers Union (SDC). Brian also serves as the Alumni Board President of Hephzibah Children’s Association in Oak Park, Illinois. He sends his love and thanks to his dear friends, actors, designers, crew members, VOTS, and Ms. Elaine.
