Steven Brown

Steven Brown is a native Memphian, involved in the local theatre scene since 1998. He's had the great pleasure of treading the boards at Theatre Memphis, GCT, Hattiloo, Evergreen, TheatreWorks, Circuit Playhouse, and more. Some of his favorite roles include Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, Christopher Isherwood in I Am a Camera, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, John in A Question of Color, and Lockwood in The History Boys.

Steven holds a BFA in theatre performance from the University of Memphis (2003), interned with the Mac-Haydn Theatre, Chatham NY (2001), toured nationally with the Rose Theatre Co. of Omaha (2003) and Poetry Alive!, Inc. (2007). He spent two summers (06-07) with the Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival playing Banquo in Macbeth and Florizel in A Winter's Tale.

In 2012, he appeared as a guest artist at the McCoy Theatre, Rhodes College playing Malvolio in Twelfth Night, for which he received an Ostrander Award for Best Leading Actor. He returned the following year as Jaques in As You Like It, to be awarded Best Supporting Actor.

Steven is constantly inspired by the depth and breadth of artistry in Memphis, is thrilled to have finally done his first recording with Chatterbox, and is looking forward to many many more.
