Ashlee LaPine

Ashlee LaPine

Ashlee LaPine is a 3rd-year MFA acting student at UMKC, where she also teaches voice for the theater, which is one of her favorite pastimes. She is currently looking forward to working on Winesburg, Ohio at the Kansas City Repertory Theater, where she was last seen as the giggly sister in A Christmas Carol. She was most recently seen as Emily Webb in The Coterie Theater’s production of Our Town. Her roles at UMKC include Heidi in The Heidi Chronicles, Ann in Goodnight Children Everywhere, Belinda Blair in Noises Off, Daphne in Present Laughter, Mrs. Squeamish in The Country Wife, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, and numerous roles in The Macbeth Project: In Spite of Thunder, a co-production with The Coterie. This summer she was seen as Desdemona in The Actors Theater production of Desdemona: A Play About a Handkerchief. She has also worked consistently at the Pioneer Theater Company, including productions of Beauty and the Beast, James Joyce’s The Dead, West Side Story, and Evita. Other favorite roles include Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Anne in All My Sons, Lily in The Secret Garden, and Maria in West Side Story. She has worked on various television projects, including ABC’s All My Children, Disney’s Halloween Town Witch University, and various Comcast commercials. She has had so much fun working on Surfacing and its wonderfully eerie script. She hopes to continue more work like it. She would like to thank her family and her dog Joy for their continual love and support. You can contact Ashley through her website: www.AshleeLaPine.com.
