Notes
The Memphis Children’s Theatre Festival, hosted by Voices of the South, is always a highlight of our year. This year was even more fun, because we took the opportunity to partner with the great folks at Theatre Memphis’s ShoWagon to collaborate on Grimms’ Fairy Tales: A Live Radio Play.
Grimms’ was written in the summer of 2013, and ShoWagon spent the 2013-14 academic year touring it to area schools and community organizations. In that time, the show really came to life, and I compliment this talented, versatile cast of four for embodying a much larger number of characters — both human and animal — so vividly and memorably.
The performance of show was written to be interactive. There’s no reason the recording can’t be as well. Why not gather the family, listen a few times, then collect some simple sound effect materials and play along?
