Notes
One of Chatterbox Audio Theater’s truly exciting contributions to the field of audio theatre is our commitment to challenging the art form by finding new and thrilling ways to tell stories while creating meaningful, unforgettable experiences for our listeners. Not long after the initial conversations about our company began, we exploded with ideas of what we could bring to the field — this series in one such idea.
A form of documentary theatre that asks us to define words that belong to all of us but mean something different to each of us, The Human Experience is a series intended to inspire personal confessions through creative outlets in order to reveal secrets, transgressions, and experiences that hold the mirror up to nature and remind us of our shared humanity.
The word selected for each episode should trigger something in us that evokes an honest response, be it anger or hurt or humor or thoughtfulness or poeticism. For Episode One it was important to select a word that eased us into the understanding of why this project was created — a word that has broken hearts, a word that has brought healing, a word that has inspired song after song and story after story, a word that launched a thousand ships: Love.
Who knows which word the next episode of The Human Experience will feature: Death? Birth? Life? Equality? Just depends on what the world needs next, I suppose.
